An Ethical Supply Chain

As a trusted American diamond and jewelry supplier since 1978, Mody International, Inc. prides itself in upholding strict standards for ethically sourcing gemstones and fine jewelry. As a precautionary step, we expect and mandate that all of our suppliers and clients adhere to the Kimberly Process.

Certified and Non-Certified Goods

When diamonds and jewelry are certified by leading industry agencies like the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL), the International Gemological Institute (IGI), and the American Gem Society (AGS), they are graded for their quality and are verified for ethical sourcing practices. When a dealer or client is buying goods from Mody International, our team will generally clearly list whether the goods are certified and provide the certification at the time of purchase. Non-Certified goods are graded by our team’s standards and priced accordingly. If the client requests for a certification, additional charges may apply.

Natural & Laboratory Diamonds

Mody International, Inc. sells both natural and man-made loose diamonds. Both are stored in separate locations and are clearly marked. Since the introduction of laboratory diamonds, the diamond industry has evolved to produce affordable and consistently reliable gemstone testers that can effectively distinguish between natural and man-made diamonds. As such, we have adopted these technologies to distinguish between both. As a precautionary step, all certificates for man-made diamonds clearly state whether they are natural or man-made stones.
